Graduate Engineer – Quality and Environmental Officer
Location: Somersby, NSW
Employment: Casual ongoing with ERM opportunity after 6 months
Hours:  Rotating day roster with Weekend (+Loadings)
Wage:$41.12/hr + loadings

About the Role Our client is seeking a Graduate Engineer – Quality and Environmental Officer to join their team at the state-of-the-art facility on the NSW Central Coast. This key technical role bridges Maintenance, Production, Technical, and Sales, ensuring that products and processes meet the highest quality and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or support all quality and environmental activities on site.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigations on quality and environmental incidents.
  • Monitor production and trade waste systems to ensure compliance 24/7.
  • Manage chemical tracking and critical process chemical volumes.
  • Provide training and awareness programs in chemical, quality, and environmental processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the management of the site quality system.
About the Team
  • Quality Team: Three core members, including QA in systems and lab staff.
  • Production Lines: Line 2 operates 24 hours, Line 1 on standard operations.
  • Career Path: Opportunities for development and progression within the quality function.
Skills & Experience
  • Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering(required).
  • Strong understanding of chemistry and quality control processes.
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and high regard for safety and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure to ensure effective process control outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is desirable.
  • Exposure to LEAN manufacturing principles is a plus.
