About the RoleAs an Energy Response Consultant, you’ll be the friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for our residential customers. You’ll handle a range of inbound enquiries, build genuine rapport, and provide solutions that meet customer needs — all while representing one of Australia’s most trusted energy providers.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing a variety of inbound customer calls across account enquiries, payment assistance, concessions, billing, and more
  • Providing exceptional service and resolving enquiries in a professional, customer-focused manner
  • Proactively promoting EnergyAustralia products and services through upselling and cross-selling
  • Using effective communication, active listening, and empathy to build strong customer relationships
  • Handling objections confidently and offering tailored solutions
  • Following regulatory and compliance requirements on every call
  • Managing your time, schedule and breaks effectively
  • Participating in coaching sessions, team huddles, and continuous development
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in customer service and/or sales roles (1–2 years desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to sell products or services
  • Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
  • Self-motivation, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to adapt to changing industry requirements
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Teams and Outlook
  • Typing speed of at least 35 wpm with 95% accuracy
  • High School Certificate (or equivalent experience)
  • We are seeking candidates who are bilingual for this recruit for some of these vacancies -  please make it clear on your application if you are fluent in reading, writing and speaking Cantonese, Mandarin or Arabic.
Non-negotiables for this role
  • Must be able to commence Monday 4th May 2026 for a 6-week training block in Geelong (Monday to Friday)
  • Post training you must be available to work a hybrid model (Tuesday and 1 other day in the Geelong office at the leader’s discretion – the only exception for this is that the Bilingual candidates have the option of being based in Melbourne CBD post training due to the availability of supports there for the language skillset)
  • No holidays or leave planned for the first 3 – 6 months
  • Be available to work a full time rotating roster Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am – 5:30pm (there is no part time or flexible hours available due to the nature of this role)
