Chandler Macleod is recruiting an experienced Refrigeration Tradesperson / Leading Hand on behalf of our client. This role is ideal for a motivated trade professional who enjoys mentoring apprentices, supporting daily operations, and delivering high‑quality outcomes while maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Team & Site Support
- Provide mentoring, support, and guidance to Labourers and Apprentices to ensure role responsibilities, performance expectations, and site‑specific requirements are met
- Attend and actively participate in onsite, team, department, and company meetings to communicate relevant information and address project, job, or works issues
- Assist management with coordinating day‑to‑day resourcing and work tasks to ensure efficiency and timely delivery
- Assist with organising and coordinating materials, plant, and additional resources (including contractors) to support efficient project delivery
- Liaise with Management and the WHS&E Advisor to identify, document, and action work, health, safety, environment, and quality requirements, including site inductions, SWMS, pre‑starts, and WHS&E reporting
- Manage and maintain correct use of company and client assets, including plant, equipment, tools, and materials
- Assist the Supervisor/Manager with accurate material ordering, procurement, deliveries, and coordination of plant and equipment hire
- Deliver project and job activities to maximise resource efficiency and overall profitability, while identifying and assisting with solutions to potential project risks
- Compile and complete all compliance and handover documentation for allocated projects, ensuring accurate information is captured
- Work proactively and use initiative to follow up on project expectations and deliverables
- Manage and maintain all safety tasks as outlined in the role‑specific induction
- Maintain all Key Performance Indicators as set by the Managing Director
- Refrigeration Trade Qualification
- ARC Tick Refrigerant Handling Licence
- QBCC Refrigeration Licence
- Current Blue Card and White Card (mandatory)
- Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol screening
- Company vehicle provided or private vehicle allowance
- Strong communication, organisational, and team leadership skills
