An opportunity is available for a Construction Officer – Utilities Construction
to join a utilities team responsible for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. Working as part of a supportive crew, you will assist with operational works including plant operation, infrastructure maintenance, and supporting the water hydrant maintenance program.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, operating machinery, and contributing to essential community infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Operate plant and machinery including backhoe, tipper truck, and front-end loader
- Perform a variety of physical labouring duties
- Support the water hydrant maintenance program
- Deliver high-quality customer service while working across utilities operations
- Work safely and collaboratively as part of a team

- Experience operating backhoe and other relevant plant equipment (e.g. tipper truck, front-end loader)
- Ability to perform physical labouring duties
- Class C Driver Licence
- White Card – Work Safely in the Construction Industry
- Current Hepatitis A & B immunisation or willingness to undertake the program
- Experience in pipe laying
- HR Driver Licence
- Confined Spaces Certificate
- Ongoing engagement with stable working hours
- 9-day fortnight roster working 6.30am - 3.40pm
