Construction Officer - Utilities Construction (Water and Wastewater)

An opportunity is available for a Construction Officer – Utilities Construction to join a utilities team responsible for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. Working as part of a supportive crew, you will assist with operational works including plant operation, infrastructure maintenance, and supporting the water hydrant maintenance program.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, operating machinery, and contributing to essential community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
• Operate plant and machinery including backhoe, tipper truck, and front-end loader
• Perform a variety of physical labouring duties
• Support the water hydrant maintenance program
• Deliver high-quality customer service while working across utilities operations
• Work safely and collaboratively as part of a team

Essential Requirements

• Experience operating backhoe and other relevant plant equipment (e.g. tipper truck, front-end loader)
• Ability to perform physical labouring duties
• Class C Driver Licence
• White Card – Work Safely in the Construction Industry
• Current Hepatitis A & B immunisation or willingness to undertake the program

Desirable

• Experience in pipe laying
• HR Driver Licence
• Confined Spaces Certificate
