We are seeking a skilled Communications Consultant to support the delivery of major transport infrastructure project on a 6 month basis. This role is ideal for an experienced communications professional who can operate confidently in a complex project environment and manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder communications.
About the Role Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will provide strategic and practical communications support across a range of infrastructure initiatives. You will be responsible for developing clear, consistent, and timely communications that support project delivery and community understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft a wide range of communications materials, including media statements, newsletters, fact sheets, advertisements, social media posts, and website content
- Develop communication and stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as targeted tactical communication plans
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with project team members to ensure consistent and effective communications delivery
- Maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Represent the organisation at internal and external community and stakeholder meetings
- Draft responses to external customer enquiries and complaints
- Prepare communications related to Ministerial business for assigned projects and initiatives
- Support the management of escalated complaints and claims
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering communication and stakeholder engagement materials within a complex project environment
- Proven experience developing community education or public information communication campaigns
- Experience facilitating and delivering presentations to groups and individuals
- Qualifications or experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or Management
- Experience writing formal correspondence, including Ministerial responses, briefing notes, and responses to Parliamentary Questions
- 6‑month contract working on high‑profile transport infrastructure projects
