The Company:
Our client is a major industrial operation providing full lifecycle project management across civil, mechanical and infrastructural works. With ongoing capital development and a strong pipeline of site-based projects, they are seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join the team in Townsville.
Experience within one or more of the following industries is highly regarded: Heavy Industrial Processing, Manufacturing, Mining, or large-scale Infrastructure and Utilities.
The Role:
• Plan, coordinate and supervise civil maintenance and civil project works to achieve safe, efficient and cost-effective outcomes
• Maintain plant infrastructure, roads and civil facilities to ensure maximum operational performance
• Manage civil projects from initial concept development through to completion, working independently to drive scope, planning, execution and close-out
• Develop scopes of work, feasibility studies, cost estimates, construction plans and drawings for new projects and plant modifications
• Prepare tender documentation and manage tender processes for civil project works
• Provide on-site supervision with a strong focus on safety, compliance, quality and accuracy
• Liaise with consultants, internal stakeholders and government departments, including coordinating permits and reporting requirements
• Raise and close work orders and provide technical guidance on engineering and design matters
• Issue excavation permits and participate in relevant site meetings and reporting
• Ensure adherence to Management of Change processes and site procedures
• Monitor and report on job progress, cost variances and project risks
Your Background:
• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• RPEQ is highly regarded
• Experience in industrial or heavy processing environments
• Strong ability to interpret civil drawings and engineering documentation
• Capable of investigating plant failures and identifying root causes
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with project planning, budgeting and reporting
• Exposure to CMMS and document control systems is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and lead small teams within project environments
• Strong analytical, logical thinking and communication skills
