We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering consultancy with a strong reputation across commercial, residential and infrastructure projects. Due to sustained growth and forward succession planning, they’re seeking an Associate Engineer (Civil) to join their Melbourne team.

This is a genuine step-up opportunity — not just a title change.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Director, you will:

• Lead medium to large-scale civil projects from concept to completion
• Manage project budgets, resourcing and delivery outcomes 
• Prepare fee proposals, tenders and technical documentation 
• Oversee and mentor engineers, drafters and graduates 
• Build and strengthen client relationships 
• Contribute to discipline strategy and business growth 
• Ensure quality, compliance and commercial performance

You’ll have autonomy, accountability and real input into the direction of the team.

About You
You will likely have:

• 8+ years’ civil engineering experience within a consulting environment
• Chartered status (CPEng) and Engineers Australia membership
• Strong design and project management capability
• Experience managing clients and project financials
• A proactive leadership style and mentoring mindset
• Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
