Asset Spatial Data Officer
Temporary Contract 
 
Location: Western Suburbs, Melbourne
Rate:$52.69 per hour + super
Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week
Contract Dates: 2 March – 17 April 2026

We are seeking an experienced Asset Spatial Data Officer to support a busy local government team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong GIS capabilities and a background in asset data management.

About the role
In this position, you will manage spatial and non-spatial infrastructure asset data, ensure data quality, and support the integration of information into the organisation’s Asset Management System. You will collaborate with technical specialists, support operational teams, and contribute to continuous improvement across asset data processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and update spatial and asset data in line with organisational and industry standards.
  • Ensure high data quality and compliance with asset data models and A‑Spec requirements.
  • Provide asset data to support financial reporting and asset lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve workflows, develop user guides, and resolve data-related inquiries.
  • Prepare reports, analyse datasets, and contribute to asset management initiatives.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Spatial Science, Information Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with GIS and asset management systems(TechOne, ESRI essential).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex datasets with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current driver’s licence.
