APS6 Senior Procurement Officer

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced APS6 Senior Procurement Officer based in Canberra to backfill a maternity leave vacancy. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of procurement and contract activities that support the agency’s operational and strategic outcomes.

As a key advisor reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring procurement processes are compliant, efficient and aligned with Commonwealth legislation, policies and best practice.

In this role, you will:

• Provide Procurement Support & Advice
• Support project teams and stakeholders to understand and manage procurement processes ethically and effectively.
• Assist in developing procurement strategies that deliver value for money.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procurement frameworks.
• Lead Procurement Activities
• Prepare and administer market approaches for goods and services.
• Draft request documentation and coordinate use of appropriate panels.
• Facilitate supplier engagement, including managing questions and clarifications.
• Collect and evaluate quotes/tenders.
• Draft contracts and support contract management activities.
• Contribute to procurement reporting requirements.
• Monitor Policy & Legislative Developments
• Stay informed of changes in procurement legislation and policy.
• Prepare briefings for Executive stakeholders as required.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Hands-on experience using SAP GUI, AusTender and coordinated/cooperative procurement platforms.
• Exposure to financial operations such as budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable or business partnering.
• Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting.
• Current Baseline security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
