Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced APS6 Senior Procurement Officer based in Canberra to backfill a maternity leave vacancy. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of procurement and contract activities that support the agency’s operational and strategic outcomes.
As a key advisor reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring procurement processes are compliant, efficient and aligned with Commonwealth legislation, policies and best practice.
In this role, you will:
- Provide Procurement Support & Advice
- Support project teams and stakeholders to understand and manage procurement processes ethically and effectively.
- Assist in developing procurement strategies that deliver value for money.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procurement frameworks.
- Lead Procurement Activities
- Prepare and administer market approaches for goods and services.
- Draft request documentation and coordinate use of appropriate panels.
- Facilitate supplier engagement, including managing questions and clarifications.
- Collect and evaluate quotes/tenders.
- Draft contracts and support contract management activities.
- Contribute to procurement reporting requirements.
- Monitor Policy & Legislative Developments
- Stay informed of changes in procurement legislation and policy.
- Prepare briefings for Executive stakeholders as required.
- Hands-on experience using SAP GUI, AusTender and coordinated/cooperative procurement platforms.
- Exposure to financial operations such as budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable or business partnering.
- Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting.
- Current Baseline security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
