An opportunity is available for an APS6 Program Officer – Infrastructure Policy and Engagement to support international development programs that promote high‑quality, sustainable and resilient infrastructure across the Indo‑Pacific region. This is a full time 12 month temporary contract with potential extension based in Canberra.
The role supports a range of infrastructure‑focused initiatives, including contributions to regional and multilateral partnerships, and fellowship programs that bring international participants to Australia to strengthen their capability to design and deliver quality infrastructure projects in their home countries.
This position is well suited to an organised and proactive professional who enjoys coordinating programs, supporting stakeholder engagement, and working in a fast‑paced policy environment.
Key Duties
Key responsibilities may include:
- Supporting program management activities across multiple initiatives to ensure objectives are met and policies and procedures are followed
- Assisting with the monitoring and administration of contractual and funding arrangements
- Managing administrative and record‑keeping activities in line with government requirements
- Supporting the administration and logistics for projects, visits and program activities
- Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders and program participants to support positive outcomes
- Maintaining an up‑to‑date awareness of program and project activities, timelines and deliverables
- Contributing to briefing materials, correspondence and reports as required
- Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Flexibility and motivation to work in a dynamic, busy team environment
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- High attention to detail and experience working within government processes and frameworks
- Experience supporting programs, projects or policy work within government or a related sector will be highly regarded
