AO6 Senior Advisor – Media | 3 Year Contract | Hybrid | Buderim
We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor – Media, Issues & Reporting to join a high-profile infrastructure program. This role will lead media relations, social media strategy, and storytelling initiatives, ensuring consistent and effective communication across multiple channels.
Working within a collaborative communications environment, you will play a key role in managing media engagement, developing proactive and reactive media strategies, and supporting the delivery of clear and timely messaging aligned with program priorities.

  • Duration: 3-year assignment
  • Location: Buderim
  • Work Model: Hybrid
  • Hourly Rate:$79.18 – $84.55 per hour + super
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of media, social media and storytelling strategies.
  • Develop proactive and reactive media strategies aligned with program priorities.
  • Identify and coordinate media opportunities that showcase key program initiatives and achievements.
  • Manage responses to media enquiries and ensure alignment with key messaging.
  • Prepare key messages, Q&A documents, media briefs and communication materials.
  • Manage social media activity including content creation, scheduling and publication.
  • Monitor and analyse media and social media sentiment, providing insights and reports.
  • Identify, track and escalate emerging media issues and reputational risks.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to contractor teams delivering communications activities.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent communication.

Key Capabilities
  • Strong experience managing media relations and media enquiries.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver proactive media stories and campaigns.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, content planning and publishing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor media coverage and sentiment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear, engaging content.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience working within large programs or infrastructure environments.
  • Background in communications, media, journalism, or public relations.
  • Experience supporting media and issues management in complex organisational environments.
