About the Role
A well‑established government department supporting major transport and infrastructure delivery is seeking an AO4 Procurement Officer to join their North Coast Region team.

You’ll support end‑to‑end procurement processes, contribute to policy‑driven decision‑making, and assist with the delivery of critical projects across the region. This long‑term engagement is ideal for someone eager to deepen their government procurement experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply, interpret, and provide guidance on procurement policies aligned with departmental and whole‑of‑government frameworks.
  • Support end‑to‑end procurement activity, including planning, documentation review, evaluation assistance, and establishing supply arrangements.
  • Deliver administrative and coordination support for more complex procurement projects under senior guidance.
  • Liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice, training, and process support.
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets, registers, and reporting tools to support compliance and information requests.
  • Contribute to procurement process improvement initiatives and participate in team performance and capability development.

What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract support—ideally within government or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of procurement policies, documentation, evaluation processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support, guide, and train stakeholders on procurement procedures.
  • High attention to detail with strong coordination, prioritisation, and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and general enterprise tools.
  • A proactive team contributor who thrives in structured, policy‑driven settings and is committed to continuous improvement.

Why This Role?
  • A rare 3‑year government contract offering stability and long‑term growth.
  • Contribute to community‑impacting transport and infrastructure programs.
  • Supportive and collaborative environment focused on integrity and performance.
  • Flexible Monday–Friday hours between 7am and 6pm.
  • Opportunity to build highly valued government procurement capability.
