This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who understands public sector reporting requirements and can confidently manage timelines, compliance, stakeholders and approvals through to publication.

About the role
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will manage the full Annual Report process, ensuring it is accurate, accessible, compliant and delivered on time.
You will work closely with Finance, Audit, Governance, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communications, Legal and senior executives to coordinate the Report of Operations and audited financial statements from planning through to tabling and publication.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage the end‑to‑end Annual Report program, including timelines, governance and approvals
  • Ensure compliance with Victorian Government reporting requirements, including:
    • Financial Management Act 1994
    • Standing Directions 2018 and Financial Reporting Directions
    • DTF Model Report (Tier 1 or Tier 2, as applicable)
  • Coordinate development of the Report of Operations across the business
  • Partner with Finance and VAGO on financial statements, audits and key milestones
  • Review submissions to ensure content is accurate, clear and written in plain English
  • Manage quality assurance, disclosure index and Responsible Body declarations
  • Ensure the final report meets accessibility (WCAG AA) and government style standards
  • Coordinate tabling, publication and post‑report improvement activities
About you
  • Proven experience delivering Annual Reports in the Victorian public sector
  • Strong working knowledge of DTF Model Reports, Standing Directions and audit processes
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear content
  • Experience producing accessible, publication‑ready reports
  • Background in communications, finance, governance, public policy or a related discipline
Contract details
  • Casual contract (3–6 months)
  • Melbourne CBD location (minimum 3 days onsite in Melbourne CBD)
  • Some flexibility available outside peak reporting periods
If you have led or coordinated a Victorian Government Annual Report and are looking for a focused, well‑defined contract role, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
