Are you an experienced Chef with a passion for authentic flavours and high‑volume production? Join an airline catering team and play a key role in creating exceptional in‑flight meals enjoyed by passengers across the world.

Chandler Macleod is seeking Production Chefs  who can bring expertise and consistency to our large‑scale client's airline food production operations.

About the Role
As an Airline Production Chef, you will prepare high‑quality dishes across a variety of Asian and Western cuisines — tailored for airline passengers in both Economy and Premium cabins. Working in a fast‑paced production kitchen, you’ll ensure every dish meets strict taste, presentation, and food‑safety standards.

This is initially a casual position (full-time hours) with annualised earnings ranging between $74K - $97K p/a. Permanent employment opportunities are considered following the successful completion of the first 6 months.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic dishes in a bulk cooking production environment
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation
  • Maintain strict food‑safety compliance (HACCP and Airline Protocols)
  • Follow recipes for mass production without compromising flavour
  • Contribute to quality control and tasting sessions

What You’ll Bring
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or Trade Qualification in Australia
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Chef
  • Experience in hot/cold meal production, batch cooking, and plated assembly
  • Understanding of airline catering operations and large‑scale food production
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work well in diverse teams
  • Flexibility to work both day and afternoon shifts including weekends and public holidays

Preferred Skills
  • Multilingual ability (Mandarin, Thai, Hindi, Japanese, etc.)
  • Work skills and understanding of traditional and modern Asian techniques
  • Familiarity with Halal, vegetarian, and special dietary requirements
