We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Workers Compensation & Injury Management Officer to manage end‑to‑end claims and support our people with high‑quality injury management services.

About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing workers compensation claims in accordance with SIRA requirements, legislation, and internal procedures. You’ll provide expert advice, ensure compliance, and support injured workers through effective injury management and recovery-at-work planning.
This position sits within a supportive Safety, Risk, and Insurance function and offers the opportunity to influence best practice claims management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of workers compensation claims, including liability assessments, wage calculations, reviews and reporting.
  • Provide accurate, timely workers compensation and injury management advice to managers and staff.
  • Develop, maintain and implement tailored Injury Management Plans.
  • Maintain accurate workers compensation records, data and documentation.
  • Communicate proactively with claimants to ensure effective injury management and a positive customer experience.
  • Identify gaps in claims management systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support incident investigations and promote proactive injury prevention practices.
  • Prepare statistical reports and ensure compliance with legislative and self‑insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding and implementation of injury management obligations.
About You
You will be a detail‑oriented, analytical, and empathetic professional who is confident working with legislation, data, and people. Your communication style is clear, professional, and adaptable to a range of stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Previous experience in workers compensation claims management (self‑insurer or scheme agent preferred).
  • Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and SIRA requirements.
  • Experience developing and managing Injury Management Plans.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and analytical thinking.
  • High level computer literacy.
Desirable
  • Return‑to‑Work Coordinator accreditation and/or experience.
  • Allied health background.
  • Experience using SolvInjury or similar claims systems.
