Work Scheduler – Field Operations (6–12 Month Contract)
$47–$50 per hour + Super | Full-Time Contract
Locations: Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo (preferred) + options for various sites across Melbourne
We are seeking an experienced Work Scheduler
to work within the utilities space, for a full-time contract role, available for 6 to 12 months. This is a practical, field-focused coordination role—not a project management position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily scheduling and mobilisation of field crews to ensure delivery of planned asset inspections and maintenance. This role is embedded within a busy, unionised field environment, so a clear communicator with a respectful and process-driven approach is essential.
Important note:
We receive many applications from engineers or project managers, but this role is not suitable for those profiles. It’s a hands-on operations role that requires prior experience coordinating field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage work schedules to deliver inspection programs effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor delivery progress and troubleshoot to keep things on track in real time.
- Prepare and issue accurate instructions to field staff, ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to arrange access and support delivery outcomes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for inspectors and field leaders during program delivery.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating field-based work programs, ideally in utilities, construction, or asset maintenance.
- A confident communicator who understands the dynamics of a unionised workforce.
- White Card, First Aid, and Chemical Handling certifications preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP and Click highly regarded.
- Understanding of electrical distribution networks. A Diploma of ESI – Power Systems is a bonus but not essential.
