Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious organization for a Wellbeing, Social, and Emotional Counselor. This unique opportunity is based in Sydney CBD and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of sponsored students by providing social and emotional support.
About the Role
As a Wellbeing, Social, and Emotional Counselor, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the social and emotional welfare of regional office-sponsored students. You will lead counseling efforts, deliver emotional support, and collaborate with various stakeholders to promote a holistic culture of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and counseling to students on social and emotional matters.
- Lead wellbeing and intervention programs to address cultural adjustment, homesickness, or stress.
- Coordinate with Frontline Advisors, embassies, and medical professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Develop and conduct workshops on wellbeing, resilience, and mindfulness.
- Respond to mental health crises and safety concerns with appropriate intervention.
- Monitor and evaluate wellbeing practices while offering recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Relevant certification in counseling or emotional support services.
- Proven experience in student counseling, education, or wellbeing programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- A 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.
