We are currently recruiting for a Venues Coordinator
for our client, a Local Council, based on Sydney’s North Shore. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for permanency. The role is 35 hours per week, paying $70–$75 per hour + super.
The current incumbent is moving into a more senior role within Council, creating an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced leader to step in and drive the next phase of growth and innovation across these iconic community venues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations and strategic development of 2 venues
- Oversee a team of 10–15 permanent and casual staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery and visitor experience.
- Act as the public face of the venues, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including councillors, community groups, and volunteers.
- Drive business development, marketing, and programming for both commercial and community initiatives.
- Represent Council at events and public functions, and support cross-departmental collaboration (e.g. communications, sustainability).
- Contribute to the launch of a new cultural and environmental centre, including branding, curriculum, and operational planning.
- Strong background in sports, recreation, or leisure facility management.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver strategic programs in a community or precinct setting.
- Experience managing multipurpose venues or open space facilities.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, event management, and business development.
- Comfortable working flexibly between 8:00am–6:00pm to support program schedules.
