Chandler Macleod is currently seeking a Truck Trailer Service Technician
to join a busy and supportive service team in Direk, SA.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading organisation in the transport and logistics sector, focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical services on customer trailers and prime movers. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and efficiency of transport operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing mechanical servicing and reconditioning of truck trailers
- Repairing and replacing brakes, bearings, and air systems
- Removing and fitting axle/suspension components with correct torque
- Carrying out fabrication and general trailer repairs
- Maintaining workshop efficiency and accurate documentation
You’re a hands-on technician with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. You enjoy working in a team and take pride in delivering reliable mechanical solutions.
You’ll bring:
- Trade qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
- Experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, transport, or plant maintenance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of trailer brake and air systems (advantageous)
- Welding and fabrication experience (highly desirable)
- A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
- Competitive hourly rate – up to $55 p/h for the right candidate
