Truck Trailer Service Technician

Chandler Macleod is currently seeking a  Truck Trailer Service Technician  to join a busy and supportive service team in Direk, SA.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading organisation in the transport and logistics sector, focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
 
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical services on customer trailers and prime movers. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and efficiency of transport operations.
 
Key responsibilities include:
 

• Performing mechanical servicing and reconditioning of truck trailers
• Repairing and replacing brakes, bearings, and air systems
• Removing and fitting axle/suspension components with correct torque
• Carrying out fabrication and general trailer repairs
• Maintaining workshop efficiency and accurate documentation

About You
 
You’re a hands-on technician with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. You enjoy working in a team and take pride in delivering reliable mechanical solutions.
 
You’ll bring:
 

• Trade qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• Experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, transport, or plant maintenance
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of trailer brake and air systems (advantageous)
• Welding and fabrication experience (highly desirable)
• A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
