This role offers the opportunity to influence transport planning and traffic management in one of Queensland’s most desirable regions. You will contribute to projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and connectivity for the community.


Position Overview
The Transport and Traffic Officer undertakes investigations and analysis of traffic-related issues, provides technical advice, and supports strategic and detailed transport planning studies. The role involves assessing traffic management plans, preparing reports, and delivering practical solutions for roads, public transport, cycling, and pedestrian networks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse traffic issues and develop solutions to improve transport safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare and present reports on transport planning options for multiple modes of travel.
  • Assess Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes for compliance with standards.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in transport engineering and traffic analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Road Rules, MUTCD, and Austroads guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and traffic modelling tools.

Skills and Attributes
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to meet competing priorities.

Contract Details
  • Hourly Rate: $69.24 plus superannuation
  • Location: Noosa, Sunshine Coast
  • Short-term contract with immediate impact on community outcomes
