$58.06–$61.83 + super per hour
Location: Brisbane Southside
About the Role
A contract opportunity for an experienced Traffic Engineer to support safe and efficient operation of the local road network. The role involves roadside site inspections, investigation of customer complaints and preparation of formal responses on traffic, parking and safety issues across the network. You will provide traffic engineering advice, develop local traffic solutions, and assist with minor works, signage, line marking and traffic control device planning.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct roadside inspections, assess safety issues and respond to customer traffic enquiries.
• Develop local traffic engineering solutions and minor works instructions in consultation with stakeholders.
• Provide specialist advice on traffic planning, operations, access, safety, signage and line marking.
• Prepare reports, recommendations and responses for internal teams, elected representatives and community stakeholders.
• Contribute to transport planning, road safety reviews, LATM schemes and traffic investigations.
Key Selection Criteria
• Degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering with eligibility for RPEQ.
• Experience in traffic management, urban road networks, traffic devices and traffic planning practices.
• Ability to investigate traffic issues, apply traffic standards and develop appropriate solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed reports and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with transport modelling tools (e.g., SIDRA, SATURN, STREAMS) is advantageous.
• Current C Class driver licence.
