Multiple Track Protection Officer Roles – Ballast Cleaning Team
About the Role
We are seeking multiple experienced Track Protection Officers (TPOs) to join the Ballast Cleaning team for our client, a respected mining company renowned for excellence in large-scale operations. This is a 12-month fixed term contract with strong potential for extension, offering stability and growth in a dynamic rail environment.
Reporting to the Safeworking Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for implementing safeworking protection for track workers and coordinating safe rail operations.
You will be required to
- Set up the appropriate track protection devices.
- Communicate with Train Controllers.
- Coordinate movements within a dynamic and operationally intensive worksite.
- Monitor and enforce safeworking rules in accordance with operational requirements.
- Implement resolution strategies.
- Have the confidence to act decisively and uphold safeworking standards.
- Maintain safeworking knowledge in line with current operating rules.
- Current Manual C-Class driver licence.
- Proven experience in the Rail Industry
- A commitment to protecting the safety and wellbeing of your team and all rail corridor users.
- Current Rio Tinto Iron Ore TPO or higher qualification is preferred but not essential.

Based out of the Safeworking Office in 7 Mile, the Ballast Cleaning project will take you throughout our vast rail network. Through your involvement in the Ballast Cleaning project, you will gain valuable experience navigating our extensive rail network.
