We are seeking a Tobacco Regulatory Control Officer to join a dynamic compliance and enforcement team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the frontline of public health, tackling tobacco and vaping-related harm across NSW.
About the Role:
- Conduct inspections of tobacco retailers and smoke-free locations to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Investigate breaches and take enforcement action under the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966 , Smoke-free Environment Act 2000 , and Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2008.
- Prepare documentation, manage cases, and support enforcement actions including prosecutions.
- Undertake covert and overt inspections and contribute to operational activities.
- Collect and analyse compliance data to identify trends and improve programs.
- Collaborate with other authorities and agencies to optimise regulatory outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage high-pressure situations.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and interpreting legislation.
- Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel (including overnight stays).
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential).
