Job Title: Technical Writer – Energy & Infrastructure (Contract)
Work Schedule: 3 Days per Week
About the Role
Our client AGL is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer with experience in the energy, infrastructure, and logistics sectors to support the development of detailed reports based on techno-economic modelling outputs. This role is essential in translating complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and structured documentation for internal stakeholders and clients. This part time role is based in Melbourne [or Sydney] CBD. The contract is scheduled to commence asap and run till July 2026.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to document findings from techno-economic modelling of behind-the-meter energy solutions
• Develop high-quality reports from technical studies, ensuring clarity and accessibility for diverse audiences
• Review modelling inputs and outputs for coherence and consistency
• Translate complex technical data into structured, reader-friendly content
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all technical documentation
• Refine and validate content in collaboration with technical teams
• Create and manage document templates and control procedures
• Handle multiple deliverables under tight deadlines with high attention to detail
Key Qualifications & Experience
• Proven experience in technical writing, ideally within energy, infrastructure, or sustainability projects
• Strong understanding of techno-economic modelling and energy system design
• Ability to interpret complex datasets, charts, and model outputs
• Good at visualising both quantitative and qualitative information
• Exceptional written communication skills with a sharp eye for detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable Skills
• Experience with behind-the-meter energy solutions, distributed energy resources, or microgrids
• Familiarity with energy markets, renewable energy, and decarbonization strategies
