Technical Writer –Mining Operations & Plant Maintenance
- Location: Perth, Brisbane, or Darwin
- Contract: 12 months
- Roster: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
- Hourly Rate:$90–$95
- Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to produce high-quality technical manuals, maintenance guides, and operational procedures for underground mining operations. This role is ideal for candidates with a mechanical or electrical trade background who can translate complex technical processes into clear, step-by-step instructions for operators and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for mining equipment, shaft hoisting systems, conveyors, and crushing circuits.
- Create user-friendly manuals and step-by-step guides for trades and operators.
- Collaborate with engineers, trades, and project teams to gather technical information.
- Research and document maintenance, operational, and safety processes.
- Use CMMS, project control software, and MS Office suite to manage documentation effectively.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the mining industry
- At least 3 years’ technical writing experience in a technical or operational environment.
- Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines (advantageous).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create documentation from scratch and work autonomously.
- MS Office proficiency; ENI software experience is a plus.
- Competitive hourly rate of $90–$100.
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster for work-life balance.
