Chandler Macleod, in partnership with our Tier 1 Mining client is seeking Technical Project Engineers (Electrical / I&C)
to support the delivery of Sustaining Capital and technical projects across aluminium operations. This position will be based in the Brisbane CBD, with a Monday to Friday roster for a casual 12+ month engagement with potential extension.
These roles sit within the Technical Projects team
and provide specialist electrical and instrumentation engineering support across study, design, execution, and commissioning phases. The positions are suited to experienced engineers who enjoy working in a technically complex, collaborative environment and who can operate effectively in a client-side delivery role.
Key Accountabilities
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical capability and experience operating in capital project environments.
- Provide technical electrical and/or I&C engineering support across Sustaining Capital projects
- Review and validate engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and calculations
- Support project execution through technical queries, design clarification, and issue resolution
- Interface with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and compliant outcomes
- Assist with procurement support, technical evaluations, and vendor documentation review
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities as required
- Ensure compliance with applicable Australian Standards, site requirements, and engineering practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement, technical assurance, and risk management
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
- Proven experience delivering electrical and/or I&C scopes in industrial or heavy industry environments
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and engineering compliance requirements
- Experience working in client-side, owner’s team, or EPC interface roles
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and safety focus
Highly regarded:
- Experience within aluminium, smelting, or major industrial operations (e.g. Tomago, Boyne, Gladstone)
- Previous Sustaining Capital or brownfields project experience
- RPEQ or pathway towards RPEQ
