Structural Projects Specialist
FIFO from Perth | 8:6 Roster | 3-Month Contract | Commencing Mid-March 2026
We are seeking an experienced Structural Projects Specialist
to join a major mining operation in the Pilbara region. This is a FIFO role from Perth on an 8:6 roster, commencing mid-March 2026 for an 3-month engagement.
This position will oversee structural remediation activities across site operations, leading teams of painters and boilermakers while ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of works.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering function, you will be responsible for managing structural remediation works across both weekly online maintenance and planned shutdown periods. You will play a key role in prioritising risk, coordinating contractors, and maintaining structural asset integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess structural risk and prioritise remediation activities
- Review, scope and approve defect notifications and work orders
- Establish and manage weekly work capacity in line with operational needs
- Review and approve weekly maintenance plans
- Conduct daily inspections of remediation job fronts and scaffolding
- Manage remediation contractors to ensure safe and compliant execution
- Coordinate blast and paint activities with shutdown teams
- Compile completion evidence and close out defects and work orders
- Source, procure and track remediation materials and long-lead items
- Maintain master data, inspection records, redlines and documentation
- Participate in contractor performance and compliance reviews
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage and reduce backlog in line with operational targets
- Ensure compliance with Engineering KPIs
- Background in Engineering, Fabrication, Paint/Coatings, or Structural Remediation
- Experience managing contractors within mining or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of structural risk and remediation processes
- Experience working within shutdown and maintenance planning environments
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet operational targets
- Strong documentation and reporting capability
- Commitment to safety and compliance standards
