A leading resources business is seeking an experienced Specialist Local Sourcing professional to support its Supply function on a 6-month contract commencing mid-January. With continued investment across the region, this role offers the chance to contribute to a high-performing commercial team during a period of growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Lead Category Management, you’ll play a key role in sourcing critical goods and services and ensuring strong commercial outcomes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing scopes of work and sourcing strategies
- Leading supplier negotiations to secure cost, quality and supply certainty
- Managing purchase orders and contract amendments
- Conducting market intelligence and supporting supplier development
- Applying total cost of ownership principles
- Contributing to stakeholder meetings and category planning
- 3–5 years’ experience in commercial or supply roles (Mining or Heavy Industry ideal)
- Strong understanding of Sourcing-to-Contract processes and supply chain fundamentals
- Proven capability in supplier negotiations and relationship management
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive commercial decisions
- Confident communicator with initiative and the ability to operate with minimal supervision
- Relevant qualifications in supply chain, commercial, or similar
- 6-month contract starting mid-January
- Competitive hourly rate $80–$90/hr + Super
