We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our client, based in Canberra for a full time, permanent position. This pivotal role offers significant career progression, including a clear pathway to partnership for the right candidate. You will lead and mentor staff, oversee client engagements, deliver expert advisory services, and contribute strategically to the firm’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants, fostering growth and high performance.

  • Oversee client portfolios, delivering expert tax planning, structuring, and advisory services.

  • Provide strategic business advice including forecasting, cash flow management, and growth strategies.

  • Review and manage the preparation of tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations and stay up to date with legislative changes.

  • Work with senior leaders to drive business development and contribute to strategic growth.

To be suitable for the role you will have:

  • CA/CPA qualified.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior tax or advisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building ability.

  • Commercial mindset with business development acumen.

  • Proficiency with accounting software and business technology tools.

Preferred

  • Experience advising SMEs and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Strong technical writing and report preparation experience.

  • Familiarity with project and risk management principles.
