Senior Strategic Planner – Heritage Focus
Full time | 35 hours per week | Cessnock NSW
Our client is seeking a Senior Strategic Planner with a strong heritage planning specialisation to join their strategic planning team. This role plays a key part in shaping long-term planning strategies and environmental planning instruments, with a focus on heritage planning and conservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of heritage-focused strategic planning projects
- Prepare and review planning documents including Heritage Strategies, LEPs, DCPs, Masterplans, and Public Domain Plans
- Provide expert heritage advice for Development Applications, pre-DA processes, and internal stakeholders
- Conduct and manage community consultation processes
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Heritage Act 1977 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
- Tertiary qualifications in heritage planning, urban/regional planning, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in heritage and strategic planning, ideally within local government
- Strong understanding of NSW planning and heritage legislation
- Proven ability to manage complex planning projects and engage with diverse stakeholders
