We are currently recruiting for 2 x Senior Statutory Planners
to join our client, a NSW Government agency based in Parramatta. These are contract roles running until 06/07/2026, offering a pay rate of $75.54 – $83.24ph + super for 40 hours per week. A flexible working arrangement is in place, with 50% office attendance required monthly and Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office each week.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Assessments you will work within one of two planning teams, each led by a Team Leader and comprising six planners. You’ll be responsible for assessing development proposals, preparing planning documentation, and contributing expert input throughout the design development process. The role involves managing a portfolio of 10–15 projects, primarily focused on construction, with occasional travel.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess development applications and proposals, including those under Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
- Prepare planning documentation such as assessment reports, Statements of Environmental Effects (SEE), and Reviews of Environmental Factors (REF).
- Provide strategic planning input across residential projects during the design development phase.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure planning compliance and project alignment.
- Manage a diverse range of projects including asset upgrades, change of use programs, and subdivisions.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning, ideally with a strong background in assessment.
- Experience in local government or consultancy environments preferred.
- Familiarity with Part 5 planning pathways and self-assessment processes.
- Subdivision experience highly regarded.
- Ability to start ASAP preferred, though a 4 week notice period will be considered.
