We are currently seeking a senior Project Officer to our clients Canberra team on a 12-month initial contract, with potential extensions. This role is vital in supporting the delivery and coordination of complex projects related to military intelligence, surveillance, and system integration activities. The successful candidate will be based onsite and will play a key part in ensuring project objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration and coordination of project documentation to ensure smooth operations.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking to meet deadlines and milestones.
- Understand and communicate the reasons behind project decisions, assessing broader impacts.
- Apply relevant policies, strategic plans, and legislative frameworks to support project activities.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships and maintain clear communication channels with all involved parties.
- Take proactive steps to progress work and resolve issues as they arise.
- Provide advice and insights on project capability proposals and risk management.
- You have considerable experience supporting portfolio, programme, or project management at a senior level (similar to APS6 or equivalent).
- You excel at stakeholder management and have a proven track record in building and maintaining strong relationships.
- You’re highly organised with excellent attention to detail and can manage multiple priorities seamlessly.
- You have a solid understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and strategic frameworks applicable to project work.
- Prior experience supporting defence or government capability projects is a strong advantage.
- You hold current AGSVA TSPV security clearance, and are prepared to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA).
- You possess strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
