Senior Project Engineer – Wind Farm Development

Location: Perth CBD
Roster: Monday–Friday (5:2)
Hours: 8 per day
Contract: 12-month initial contract
Start: ASAP

Join a leading mining and energy organisation as they undertake one of Australia’s most significant renewable energy transitions. As part of their major decarbonisation program, the company is developing large-scale, giga-watt wind farm projects across the Pilbara.
Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the Senior Project Engineer will support all project engineering aspects of wind farm development — from early planning stages through to construction and commissioning. This role requires strong engineering capability, proven project/package management experience, and a genuine interest in renewable energy development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support supplier prequalification, bid evaluation, and contract negotiations in line with project schedules and budgets.
  • Assist in managing the technical and commercial procurement of wind turbine generator (WTG) packages from tender through to commissioning.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Monitor and report on manufacturing progress, quality assurance, and key delivery milestones.
  • Support the development and coordination of project deliverables to improve design maturity, schedule accuracy, and cost definition.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • 5–8 years’ experience in energy generation or large infrastructure projects.
  • Proven background in package engineering or procurement for major equipment or EPC contracts.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine technology, interfaces, and supply chain processes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of contract management principles.
  • Strong skills in technical evaluation, stakeholder coordination, and supplier management.
