Senior Project Engineer – Electrical
Initial 12-month contract | ASAP Start
FIFO ex Perth | Perth CBD & Site-Based Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Electrical to support the delivery of major wind farm infrastructure projects for a leading mining and renewable energy organisation. This role will commence in the Perth CBD for the initial months before transitioning to site on a rotating roster.

You will report to the Electrical Package Lead, with a dotted line to the Construction Manager. The position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of 33 kV distribution lines, supporting wind turbine construction and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality and schedule requirements. During site-based construction, you will act as the electrical team’s representative, working closely with the site team to drive project success.
This position will suit a proactive and self-motivated engineer who thrives in dynamic project environments and is ready to take on a high-profile challenge in a rapidly expanding energy department.
 
Role Details

  • Contract: 12 months
  • Start: ASAP
  • Location: Perth CBD initially, then site-based
  • Roster: 5/2 (Perth), 2/1 (Site)
  • Hours: 9 hours/day (Perth), 12 hours/day (Site)
  • FIFO: Ex Perth
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of assigned electrical work packages on site.
  • Manage contract deliverables, including review of contractors’ project documents and management plans.
  • Interpret and respond to technical queries in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, recommending best practice solutions.
  • Review wind turbine design and construction documentation for compliance with company policies and Australian Standards.
  • Support interface planning and coordination between contractor groups.
  • Liaise between internal and external stakeholders to support construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Maintain accurate and high-quality project documentation.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Assist with monitoring project costs and schedules to meet performance targets.
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ electrical engineering and/or project delivery experience in site-based roles.
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in wind energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to review and verify designs against required specifications and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence facilitating meetings.
  • Solid understanding of Australian Standards, mining legislation, and regulatory requirements.
