within the Child Safety Taskforce, you’ll play a key role in leading complex projects, developing innovative policy solutions, and shaping strategies that drive positive change for children and families across Victoria.
About the Role
This role supports the development and implementation of the Victorian Government’s child safety agenda. You’ll lead policy and program development, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and ensure alignment with departmental priorities and governance standards. Working in a collaborative and dynamic environment, you’ll contribute to initiatives that enhance child wellbeing and safety outcomes statewide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead policy development and program design within the child safety portfolio.
- Manage complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
- Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Build and maintain effective relationships across government and community sectors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovative policy approaches.
You are a skilled policy professional with strong analytical, communication, and project management capabilities. You thrive in collaborative environments and have a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in policy development or program implementation, ideally in child safety or social policy.
- Strong project management skills, including managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Proven ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a fast-paced, agile team.
- Experience within the Victorian Public Service or related sectors.
- Knowledge of government frameworks, governance processes, and policy systems.
- Tertiary qualifications in Public Policy, Social Work, Economics, or a related field.
- Occasional travel within Victoria may be required.
- Commitment to Victorian Public Sector values and legislative compliance.
