Senior Policy Officer – Strategic Policy & Advisory
3-Month Contract | Adelaide CBD + WFH Flexibility
ASO6 Equivalent | Immediate Start Preferred
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer
to join a high-performing Strategy and Government Relations team within a key public sector agency. This role is ideal for a policy professional who thrives in complex, cross-sector environments and is passionate about shaping forward-looking, impactful policy across priority areas such as energy, sustainability, and the resources sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and strategic policy advice to senior stakeholders, including Executive and Ministerial audiences
- Prepare high-level briefings, talking points, cabinet submissions, and strategic communications
- Provide input into whole-of-government policies and inter-agency legislation
- Analyse emerging trends, draft strategic narratives, and support funding submissions
- Represent the agency in intergovernmental forums and working groups
About You:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues clearly
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and collaboration
- Proven analytical, research, and problem-solving capability
- Sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities under limited supervision
- Experience in policy development within government or related sectors
- Knowledge of or transferable experience in the energy, mining, or sustainability space is highly desirable
