We are currently recruiting for a Senior Planner for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Parramatta. This is a 12-month contract with a pay rate of $77.80 per hour + super (PAYG) or $77.80 flat rate (ABN) for 40 hours per week. WFH is available for up to 5 days per fortnight, with Tuesday and Thursday required in the Parramatta office.
About the Role
The Senior Planner will join the Assessment Team and provides planning advice and guiding projects from inception to approval. The role involves preparing Statements of Environmental Effects (SEEs) and Review of Environmental Factors (REFs), attending internal and external meetings, and managing planning approvals under Part 4 and Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
You will work collaboratively and with external stakeholders, including other government agencies, to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide accurate and timely planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and review planning assessment reports to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Manage planning approvals and coordinate consultants as required.
- Identify and mitigate planning risks and environmental impacts.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to support project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in Local or State Government
- Strong background in residential development assessment;experience in Part 5 assessments desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
