We’re seeking a Senior Governance Officer to help manage a growing workload and support key compliance and governance functions across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Governance, you will join a team of Governance Officers and play a central role in improving governance standards, strengthening decision‑making frameworks, and supporting organisational compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and advising on privacy, probity, and policy development.
- Handling complex complaints in accordance with governance standards.
- Supporting legislative compliance and governance processes across the organisation.
- Assisting with information handling and access‑to‑information processes (GIPA exposure desirable but not essential).
- Preparing written reports, advice, and governance documentation.
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure sound governance practices.
- 3+ years experience in Governance, ideally within Local or State Government.
- Strong capability in privacy management, probity, complaints handling, and policy work.
- Confident communicator with excellent judgement and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing deadlines.
- Experience with GIPA is desirable but not mandatory.
