Senior FP&A / Commercial Analyst (Contract)
Location: Artarmon, Sydney NSW
Work Type: 6‑month casual contract | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

About the Role

We are seeking a high‑performing finance professional to join a global leader in the engineering and manufacturing sector on a short‑term contract. This role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running, lead by example, and partner effectively with senior stakeholders while delivering commercial insights and supporting month‑end processes.

You’ll play a key role in margin analysis, dashboard‑driven reporting, and business partnering across multiple regions, including Asia. The successful candidate will combine technical excellence with strong communication and influencing skills, helping to plug gaps in the team and drive high performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver commercial analysis including margin, profitability, and variance insights with actionable recommendations.
• Partner with senior stakeholders (including Asia leadership) to provide concise, impactful financial support.
• Shape and leverage dashboards(Power BI/Excel) to enhance reporting and decision‑making.
• Support month‑end close activities (P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, WIP, accruals).
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and performance planning initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and help upskill team members.

About You

• CPA/CA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong experience in FP&A, commercial analysis, and stakeholder partnering.
• Hands‑on exposure to month‑end accounting and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Power BI highly regarded).
• ERP experience (SAP or similar).
• Manufacturing or engineering industry experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility quickly.
