Permanent Senior Engineer – Maintenance Management Programs – Cairns (Relocation Package Available)

An exciting opportunity for an experienced asset management professional to lead and enhance infrastructure maintenance programs within a community-focused council. This role offers the chance to apply deep expertise in managing large-scale assets, driving continuous improvement, and supporting long-term strategic planning aligned with ISO55000 standards.


About the Role:

You will spearhead improvements in tactical maintenance strategies, asset renewal frameworks, and risk-based management, ensuring optimal asset performance and community service outcomes. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will leverage advanced data systems and analytics to inform decision-making and resource allocation, promoting sustainable infrastructure management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Refine and implement asset management frameworks, including condition assessments, defect elimination, and change management.
  • Provide tactical support for maintenance planning, renewal prioritisation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Use asset data and analytics to develop long-term planning tools and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate technical insights to diverse stakeholders, enabling informed, data-driven decisions.

About You:
The ideal candidate will bring significant maintenance management experience within large, multi-disciplinary organisations. A comprehensive understanding of international standards and best practices in asset management is essential.
