Senior Data Engineer

Our client AGL is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for an initial  six months contract opportunity in Melbourne CBD, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping enterprise data platforms and guiding agile delivery teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll:

• Provide expertise to cross-functional agile teams to deliver high-impact data initiatives.
• Provide technical thought leadership and foster a culture of innovation.
• Design, build, and support scalable enterprise data platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic goals.
• Own and manage technical assets, ensuring performance, security, and compliance.

What You Bring

• Expertise in modern cloud data architectures, specfically Microsoft Azure.
• Strong experience with tools including Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, Azure DevOps, and Terraform.
• Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with data modelling techniques (e.g., Data Vault 2.0, dimensional modelling).
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and ETL frameworks such as dbt.
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and agile delivery.
