Overview
Provide accurate cost estimates for major construction projects from initiation to handover. Manage pricing databases, ensure WHS and environmental compliance, and support benchmarking and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare project estimates ensuring they are in accordance with industry best practice but in strict adherence to SWC processes and procedures, to deliver major projects on time and within budget, from Project Initiation through to Close Out and Handover
- Support tendering, bid preparation, and contractor cost analysis.
- Report project status and contribute to process improvements.
- Stay current with estimating technology and industry best practices.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the required information is obtained i.e Project Managers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, External agencies, Consultants and contractors
- Develop Cost Plans and Cost Estimates for price build and contract documentation in line with WBS / CBS structure.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction estimating, preferably in regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, HS&E codes, and construction logistics.
- Experience with bench market research to create cost libraries.
- Skilled in estimating software, proposal writing, and stakeholder communication.
- Proven ability to innovate and drive best practices.
- This role may suit Quantity Surveyors with cost control experience.
