Senior Control Systems Engineer
Location: Somersby | Casual Rate Full-Time Hours | Competitive Salary + Benefits
Are you an experienced Control Systems Engineer ready to take on a senior role where you can make a real impact? This is an opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing site, leading automation and control system initiatives that drive reliability, performance, and innovation.
The Opportunity
As the Senior Control Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering projects that enhance automation, optimise production, and improve site reliability. You’ll take ownership of equipment installations, upgrades, and maintenance strategies, while driving innovation in control systems across a highly automated plant environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead automation and control projects from concept through to commissioning.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
- Investigate root causes of equipment issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Scope and manage capital projects, including budgets up to $5M.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve plant performance.
- Mentor and support electricians to build problem-solving capability and minimise downtime.
- Champion safety-first initiatives with a focus on machine safety and compliance.
- Provide support for breakdowns, including after-hours when required.
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Industrial, or Manufacturing).
- At least 7 years’ experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in program design and commissioning of automated plants(concrete/batching experience highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, with the ability to design entire factory structures.
- Experience in production line automation.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Hands-on, innovative, and practical approach.
- CAD design experience (advantageous).
- Work on a highly automated, complex site
with state-of-the-art equipment.
