A senior engineering opportunity exists for an experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineer to lead high-level technical projects in industrial, manufacturing, and government sectors. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead control and instrumentation design, programming, configuration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and mentor junior engineers.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, and technical documentation to meet client requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders and maintain high standards of client satisfaction.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to drive project innovation.

Technical Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in industrial C&I engineering with proven hands-on capability.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes.
  • Proficiency in DCS (Bailey, Yokogawa, Honeywell), PLC (Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens), and SCADA systems (Citect, Geo SCADA, Experion, FactoryTalk, Wonderware).
  • Experience with motor control, P&ID/PFD preparation, instrumentation selection, and commissioning.
  • Expertise in communication protocols (Profibus, Fieldbus, HART) and safety instrumented systems.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Electrical Engineering degree (Australian institution) and RPEQ registration in Queensland.
  • Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience in industrial or consulting environments.
  • Corporate membership of Engineers Australia (CPEng/NPER-3) preferred.
  • Engineering or Business Management studies are advantageous.

Location:
Gladstone, QLD, with travel to industrial sites including refineries, chemical plants, coalmines, smelters, and power stations.
