About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Waste Contracts & Projects Officer to lead the management of waste and recycling service contracts that support sustainable outcomes for the community.
In this role, you will oversee service agreements, guide contractors and stakeholders, resolve escalated service issues, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, fit‑for‑purpose waste and resource recovery services. You will also contribute expert advice to development matters, prepare reports for decision‑makers, and support broader waste and recycling initiatives.
This is a senior position requiring strong communication, excellent customer service capability, and high‑level administrative and organisational skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage waste and recycling contracts from procurement through to performance monitoring.
- Provide specialist advice on contract, procurement and service delivery matters.
- Act as the escalation point for complex customer issues, service interruptions and contractor concerns.
- Oversee project work including workflows, audits, contract payments and record‑keeping.
- Prepare reports, briefing notes and documentation to support senior leaders and operational decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and community stakeholders to deliver effective waste and recycling services.
What We Need
- Demonstrated experience in contract management, government procurement, and operational project management.
- Strong administration capability and proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence in stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to prioritise work effectively and manage competing deadlines.
- Comfortable addressing escalated enquiries, complaints and technical service issues.
- Understanding of waste, recycling or local government service delivery (highly regarded).
