Senior Change Manager – Procurement
State Government Department | Melbourne CBD / Hybrid
Day Rate: $650 -$700 + super | January - June 2026
We are seeking an experienced Senior Change Manager
to support a major transformation within a State Government Procurement branch.
This role will lead and deliver change readiness activities to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems and ways of working.
If you are a confident and credible change professional who thrives in complex environments and understands public sector operations, you'll play a key role in preparing teams for change, building internal capability, and supporting leaders to embed change into business-as-usual operations.
About the Role:
- Lead end-to-end change management activities for procurement transformation initiatives
- Assess change impacts, readiness and risks, and develop practical mitigation strategies
- Design and deliver communication, engagement and change plans
- Coach and support people leaders to successfully implement change within their teams
- Build strong relationships across a complex stakeholder environment
- Ensure change initiatives are embedded and sustained post-implementation
Key requirements include:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Senior Change Manager or Change Lead
- Experience supporting large-scale or complex transformation programs, ideally within the public sector
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence diverse and dispersed stakeholder groups
- Strong facilitation, communication and coaching skills
- Change management qualification (e.g. PROSCI) preferred
- Lead and Navigate Change: Deliver structured change initiatives and guide teams through uncertainty
- Partnering and Co-Creation: Build trust-based relationships and drive shared ownership of outcomes
- Influence and Persuasion: Secure buy-in and alignment across multiple stakeholder groups
- Stakeholder Management: Balance competing priorities and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions
