Building Maintenance Supervisor – Short-Term Contract
Footscray | 12 Jan – 6 Mar 2026 | $53 p/h + super | Full-time hours
A great short-term opportunity has opened for an experienced Building Maintenance Supervisor
to join a busy local government team.
This role suits someone confident in building maintenance operations, contractor management, and delivering high-quality, safe outcomes across multiple sites.
The Role:
You’ll be the key point of coordination for building maintenance works—auditing requests, prioritising tasks, engaging contractors, and ensuring all activities meet compliance, safety and quality standards.
You’ll also conduct building inspections, contribute to asset management processes, and support the team with advice and leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Audit, prioritise and coordinate building maintenance works.
- Oversee contractors and manage contract documentation and administration.
- Conduct building inspections and support building asset management.
- Ensure compliance with risk management, OHS, and quality assurance requirements.
- Maintain accurate data and reporting.
- Work effectively with senior managers, staff, contractors and community members.
- Lead, support and motivate team members to meet operational objectives.
- Trade qualification in Building with significant building maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance practices.
- Contractor management experience.
- Experience with quality assurance and data management.
- Highly developed communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong understanding of budgeting processes and OHS systems.
- Confident Microsoft Access and database skills.
- Current valid driver’s licence.
- Local government experience is highly regarded.
