Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in SCADA systems, Agile delivery, and distributed asset environments? Our client AGL is seeking a dynamic professional to lead the rebuild of a distributed SCADA system for a major transformation initiative in the energy sector. This is a contract role based in Melbourne CBD in a hybrid working environment for a period of 12 months.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to manage the end-to-end delivery of a SCADA Replacement Program—transitioning from a legacy system to a modern, distributed architecture. The project will be delivered using Agile methodologies with a hybrid V-model for verification and validation. You’ll work across Engineering, IT/OT, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to ensure successful planning, execution, and transition into operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation to deployment and handover.
• Apply Agile and hybrid methodologies to manage cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Oversee system validation, testing, and commissioning using a V-model approach.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, risk, scheduling, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Bring
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, distributed systems projects—ideally within SCADA, DCS, or industrial control environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and SDLC, with hands-on experience in system validation and commissioning.
• Background in engineering and experience in heavy industry or utilities.
• Familiarity with distributed asset management (e.g., renewables, remote operations).
• Excellent stakeholder management, vendor negotiation, and communication skills.
Ready to lead a high-impact transformation in the heart of Melbourne? Apply now to be part of a forward-thinking team driving innovation in control systems.
