Safety & Wellbeing Advisor – (North East Suburbs)
$65+ per hour + super | Contract until July 2026  | Some multi‑site work | Hybrid

A fantastic opportunity to join a Local council as a Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, supporting leaders and staff to create a safe, healthy and compliant workplace.
Perfect for someone with strong OHS experience who enjoys building relationships and providing practical, people‑focused advice.

About the Role You’ll provide expert OHS guidance, support injury management, and help drive wellbeing outcomes across a diverse range of services.
This role works closely with managers, employees and Health & Safety Representatives to ensure safe work practices and continuous improvement.
Local government experience is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, practical advice on all OHS matters
  • Support incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Conduct workplace safety audits and maintain safety data
  • Assist with ergonomic assessments, OHS training and policy updates
  • Coordinate return‑to‑work programs and manage WorkCover claims
  • Liaise with medical practitioners, investigators and insurers
  • Support Child Safe compliance, including WWCC monitoring
  • Develop and review psychological safety prevention plans
What You’ll Bring
  • Qualification in OHS or related field
  • Strong experience in OHS advisory roles
  • Confident conducting investigations, audits and risk assessments
  • Injury management and RTW experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience with HRIS or incident management systems (desirable)
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence & Working With Children Check
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19
