Purchasing Manager – Permanent Role | Villawood, NSW

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced  Purchasing Manager  to oversee procurement operations across Australia and New Zealand. This is a  full-time, permanent position  based in  Villawood, NSW. Please note:  this is an on-site role - no work-from-home option.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team of 8 and manage procurement strategies for both local and international suppliers. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, process-driven thinking, and exceptional negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Procurement & Sourcing -  Develop and execute procurement strategies for local and overseas suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
• Leadership & Team Development -  Mentor and lead a high-performing team, setting clear KPIs and fostering collaboration.
• Supplier & Contract Management -  Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and monitor performance.
• Operational Excellence - A lign procurement with business needs, oversee inventory planning, and drive process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven stability in previous roles with experience in wholesale, multi-branch, or warehouse operations.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
• Background in  financial management or business economics.
• Hands-on approach with clear communication skills.
• Ideally from automotive or similar industries
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics.
